Need Help On 2K 4Runner W/96 3.4 Swap
So, I have a 2000 4runner (4x4 SR5) that we bought for my son with a blown motor. We were lucky enough to get a freshly rebuilt 3.4 out of a totaled 96 4runner (4x4 limited) Engine swap went very well, all bolted up. We used the wiring harness & ECU from the 2K. However, now we cant get a spark to save our lives. checked all grounds, all connections. My question is: are there sensors that are not compatible (96-2K) such as cam / crank position sensors etc? One other possible cause is there was a viper 300+ alarm that we don't have the fob for. ( I am looking to fully uninstall that) however, it turns over beautifully seems to be getting gas but no spark. It is also throwing codes P1300 & P0100 Igniter circuit & MAF. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated
Thanks,

I found this document a while back while planning an engine swap. These are for Tacomas but are going to be very similar if not identical. I looked at a 96 and a 2000. Took pictures of one of them and compared them to the other. I quickly found three discrepancies and figured I'd leave it up to you to sort it out.
I happen to have a complete harness from a 2000 4wd SR5 hanging up in my shop. If you want any info on wire colors or something like that, let me know. May be easier for me to look at this harness than you to climb under your dash and look.

I know off the Top of my head the MAF sensors are very different .
The plugs are the same but the connections are different .
That alone will keep the fuel pump from turning .
Then the PO1300 the ECM does not see the igniter signal also turns the fuel off.
Perhaps the igniter plug wiring is different
All the sensors from the 2000 engine should be used with that harness and ECM
