Need A/C help again!!

Okay, I need someones advice on this one. I just spent about $800 bucks on a new compressor and new reciever/dryer, installation, evac and recharge of the system too. So after all that I put into it the system, the darn thing still no worky. The guy at the shop told me that he was getting a good reading on the HIGH pressure guage, but no reading on the LOW Pressure guage. I dont know what he's talking about, and not sure if he knows what hes talking about either. I wasnt sure if the new compressor he installed was working either. I noticed my rpm's go up about 200-300 when I switch the AC on, but I cant get any cold air. He thinks its the condensor. Does anyone know what could be my problem. Its a brand new compressor from ACKITS.com, and brand new Receiver dryer with new hoses too. It worked fine before the Compressor siezed up. I feel like Im being taken. Can anyone chime in here, thanks guys.

It sounds like something wasn't installed correctly since the compressor is working, but you have no pressure on the low side.

Hard to guess. Clogged condenser is possible, but I would more suspect that the evac was unsuccessful (moisture still in system) or the expansion valve is faulty.
Just tossing out ideas:
Maybe one of the new hoses is defective? (Or connected wrong?)
Maybe debris from the old compressor got into the system?
Or the compressor is bad (or the wrong one?)
Does the compressor spin (the magnetic clutch engage) when you turn the AC on?
When you turn it on, do you get some cold first then it stops being cold?
Did the expansion valve body get really really cold to the touch?
Was there frost around the receiver/dryer or on the tube leading from it?

The compressor spins, I dont hear the clutch engage or anything but I notice a slight change in the rpm.
The compressor spins. Before if I turned the ac on, the belp squeeled so bad and my engine almost stalled.
I get no cold air.
I dont know where the expansion valve body is??
No frost that I noticed near the receiver/dryer.

Well, after searching ackits.com, it looks like I may have had a "black death" And so that would mean that there could be large pieces of metal stuck in various places of the system. Probably the condensor, but maybe a GOOD flush will clear it out too. Could be the ex tube as well. I really dont want to spend so much time and money on this as its getting cooler by the day. But Ive already spent this much money on it so I figure I might as well go all out. Maybe the right thing to do is buy a new condensor and ex tube/valve and have that installed. As well as a really good flush of the system.

I had the same problem over the summer had to put in a new expansion valve and problem went away. Your guy should have done that for you if he did all those other things. 99 yards and a fumble if you ask me. If you have the system open already why not replace the $17 part that usually fails?

no probably not a leak if you have high side pressure. If the expansion valve is stuck shut, or there is a plug somewhere in the evaporator, you will not see low side pressure because the compressor is creating a vacuum on the low side as it pressurizes the high side.

you also won't be able to pump it down if there is a leak...

same happened to me when i fixed my broken a/c line had it evaped and recharged worked for 1 day and stopped when i took it back to the guy who recharged it he thought it was plugged or the expansion valve took him 30min to get to the expansion valve since our trucks got the a/c unit in an easy place to get. Once he changed the expansion valve all worked well and its been 8 months since that happened and a/c still blows nice and cold

I've taken my truck in at least once a year for the past four years to have the system purged/vacuumed/filled. The a/c will work great for months and then stop blowing ice cold.

I've replaced the dryer with a new one from Toyota and the shop has never been able to ID a leak.

Where is the expansion valve located?
