my wheels what u think?
I painted one of the limited wheels to see if i liked it. Does it look to drug dealerish? I am mounting a set of 285 firestone destination MTS on it. i wanted to accent the black by leaving the outer edge of the wheel just clearcoated. I do plan on puting black flares on and black bumpers.

can anyone explain to me why black rims are "in style" to me they are ugly as hell... now i can see puting the flat black off road rims on just bc they will get trashed anyway but the shiny expensive black ones???? i dont get it

Gloss black, or flat black work well.

yeah, they are very bling! which i do not like. I don't know how to tone it down though as the clearcoat makes it really shine. Perhaps all they need is to get a little dirty.

flat black with a low gloss clear will give them a very cool ratrod look and not so much the bling factor

Kenai, very well done. I was looking for someone to do something with their stock wheels besides the basic black. I'd really like to see someone integrate the old school Racing Hart style on the stockers.
What kind of paint did you use?

I thought about getting black rims, I decided that they don't look that good, too many people have them, and they don't really make the rig look that good, so they are in style so that you and I can not get them and therefore be "out of style", until the trend dies off, and we'll be "in style" again

Homemade is always better. Well done man!! I like the clearcoated ring. And if ya'll dont understand its called "custom". Like mine dont look like yours. Like I spent the time to do something different. Give the dude his props.

okay, i did another test on another one. This time i just primered it and then cleared over it. The primer is very flat so i was hoping that would tone it down. I just used plain super flat black primer and por15 clear. The por 15 clear is supposed to be very very hard. But it makes it really shine. the crazy thing is that i really can't tell a difference at all with one that has paint/clear and one that is just primered/clear.
