My tires are crap

I just got my rig a couple of months ago used and it came with Michelin LTX M/S 265/75/16.
It was raining yesterday and so I though I would go out by the lake and play in the mud...well let me tell you..these STINK in the mud..I could hardly control my runner..and the tires filled up with mud in about 2 seconds..
I need new tires ..but I will keep these until I do my lift..then I am looking at the revos or the AT KOs.

but all said and done..I had a heck of a lot of fun in the mud..I wish I had a camera...

The M/S is a street tire. Get some Dueler A/T's and you will notice a huge difference.

I had Dunlop's that came on my rig when I bought it, they were horrible. I put on Michelin LTX A/T's (mild A/T tire) and its 100% better!

Those are great on-road tires and you'll get alot of highway miles with em. The KOs or the Revos will have better off road abilities but need to be replaced more often.......sadly no free lunches there.

I know that they would not be great off road..I was just venting a bit..

I want better tires..but again they have to wait until I do my lift..
or I might be able to find better used tires..but I never liked the idea of a used tire.

I've been waiting for my LTX ATs to wear out so I could get a tire with a bit more off-road ability. I'm up to 50k on the tires and it looks like they've got another 30-50k in them.

Be prepared to wait (perhaps a long time).

My dad put a set of LTX M/S on his 96 4Runner when hit had 30k miles on it. He replaced them with a fresh set (LTX M/S again) this winter. I think he put 80,000 miles on them and still had some life left in them. He just wanted a new set for winter.

I read soooo many good reviews about the LTXs that is made me buy a set. Mine have quite a while to o so I may buy another set of rims for winter and run some Revos during the nasty weather and then switch back to the LTXs in summer. Those darn things just don't wear out!!!

I just read this again and I really don't make sense. I guess that's what I get for 3 hours of sleep!
