My runner was in a Hit and Run....

I had recently parked my runner in a walmart parking lot, and when i returned to my car, the passanger rear chrome side skirt/bumper was smashed in, and even worse, no information was left. Got to love people some times! Im trying to find this part, the rear bumper chrome, and also the front bumper chrome, since they all have minor to major dents now. I have looked a various sites posted, is there any more that might have a better deal ??thanks guys

Good point! Perhaps you can get your insurance company to get them to look over their tapes to see if you can catch a lincence plate number or something. If you go this route, you might want to do it ASAP in case they erase or reuse their tapes.

That stinks. Yea, go back to Wal-Mart and ask the manager if the both of you can look at security tapes from that day. Be sure to know the time when you were there, at least a couple hour period. I'm sure they would be willing to help.

Same thing happened to my old 92 PU when I had it. I had parked kinda far out in the Wal-Mart parking lot because it was packed that day. I went inside and then came back out and someone had rammed my rear bumper into the bed of my truck. It had to have been a truck because my truck was sitting on 33's and the hit looked pretty direct, a car couldn't have hit me that high. I went to see if they would check on their security cameras, but my truck was right out of the line of sight and we couldn't determine what had hit my truck. Try the cameras, it would have worked for me had I parked where they could see me.

Those things are common and cannot be prevented unless you don't park your SUV outside and keep it inside your garage all the time.
I think this is making a mountain out of a molehill.
There's no reason to assume that this damage was done purposely. Why make a bigger deal out of it than necessary?

Agreed!
I live in one of the most redneck counties in South Carolina. I highly doubt there are any any environmental extremist that would hunt out my vehicle in a crowded Wal-Mart parking lot just to put a dent in it. Plus for how high the dent was, it had to have been a truck that hit me so that would have kinda counteracted their point.

Come on folks, there are some old fools driving around in land yachts that can hit your vehicle and not even have a CLUE! Not to mention soccer moms, bling blingers, punks, druggies...

If you were at Walmart and in the parking lot, $10 they got it on a video tape and you can prosecute the offender, although parking lots are private property and the police won't write out a police report...you'll have to file things yourself w/ your insurance company with the tape. Now that it is a hit and run not sure what the popo will do.

Sucks to hear which is a partial reason for me to build sliders my front bumper and I am modifying my rear bumper. No worries of door dings and the damage will be more severe to whoever hits me. Unfortunately most people these days don't care about their vehicles. its just something to stuff gas in and go with. Body armor is your friend...
