My Ebay Listing! No Reserve! Happy Bidding!
#64
Chris-
send him a reminder today that payment is due in full within three days. He might write back saying he is going to pay via money order in case you have to wait. In the meantime contact the 2nd bidder and let him no there has been no contact with the winner, and that after three days you can sell it to him. Ask him for his contact info so that you can go ahead and calculate shipping charges, that way he'll stay interested. After three days, and no contact from winner ... sell it to him via paypal, and be done with this. Just to let you know paypal is going to take 3-4% of your total.
There is also a place on ebay you can go and get the winning bidders contact info like address and home phone. If the phone number doesn't work, you pretty much have a good feeling that your about to be scammed.

Patience
Chris,
Be patient dude! Give the high bidder the time you promised, send them a reminder after 3 days and if it has been a week and you have heard nothing, then go with the second high bidder.
You can never tell what might be happening or has come up in someone's life that is WAY less important than some ebay stuff. If the high bidder doen't follow through with the deal I don't really think you will have trouble selling your merchandise to someone else.
Good luck!

hey chris....
Let the bidder take a a sec...usualy when im buying on ebay its mostly impulse buys, then when i realize what i bouht i have to scramble and get some money up. If i was given 3 days to pay that kind of money i would be freaked out as that is a ffairly short period of time to pay.
BUT on a second note, he hasnt even replied which would set off red flags in my head. I uusaly send a email saying that im getting funds put together or at least send you my addy for shipping costs.
Good Luck. Things will work out for yea!

Also, I should hope that when I'm selling something on Ebay the buyer has the funds to cover the costs. I've had people bid on my auctions and win them only to ask me to sell it to them cheaper cause of some unforseen situation.

That is just completely irresponsible in my book.

I've been ebaying for about 3 years and i found that the feedback thing is most important. I wouldn't sell to someone who has no feedbacks or too many negs(over 3). I let them know in the auction-
also I stopped taking checks and money orders. paypal only.
Anytime you deal with the public you take it in the can so having some simple rules helps, not always but it helps.
