my 4wd doesnt work?????
I am brand spanking new to this forumn and dont want to step on any toes, but last weekend I went 4-wheeling and my 4wd would not engage. The light on the dash did not even come on and I am : needles s to say, a little bent about this. Could someone please give me a direction to go in to find out what the problem is???

Well first thing to start with is usualy an intro
However it would help VERY much (always) to know what the year and model of your vehicle is so we can help you. Also give any other info, like did it work when you bought it? what have you done since? have you looked under the truck to see if anything is happening? are all vacuum lines (3rd gen) in working order? ...etc

My appologies. As I said this is not just my first time here but on ANY forumn. My name is Steve and I live in Lebanon Va. My 4runner is a 95. There are 2 vacuum lines and 2 wires going to the actuator on the front diff. The vacuum is good but I have 11.09 vdc on both wires at the harness on the actuator. And by the way, Thank you for responding I only just now figured out how to see your response

Oh yes I have taken it 4 wheeling before and it worked just fine. Between then and now I have had to replace a drivers side head whitch required disassembling practically the whole top side of the motor

Its auto. It was really embarrasing I had to have a ford pull me out. He suggested doing a manual hub conversion but if I can repair awire or something without spending I would rather do that. But it depends on whats involved
