Mpg Loss please help
Very recently i have experianced a mpg loss from about 18.5mpg to now i am getting around 15.3. I used to get 280-300 on a tank and now i get 220-240.
I am not experiancing any power loss and my tire pressure is good. ABouth a month ago i had a check engine light come on for a cat sensor. Which i was told to turn off and see if it came back on. Well it has not came back on and the mpg loss started happening a couple weeks ago. This sucks can anyone help me?

How did you turn of fthe CEL? I assume you either pulled the fuse or lifted the battery cable to reset the ECU. It sounds like whatever triggered the CEL is or is related to the culprit, but you can't be sure. Did you have anything else done to the vehicle? New tires? Who told you to turn the CEL off and what else did "they" say? Did you get the exact code number? More info is needed to figure this one out.

i believe the code was p0420 sensor and i turned it of with the obd reader.
I was told that this code sometimes trips the cel when there is no problem. I was told to turn it off and if the cel comes on again i have a problem, which it hasnt
