Mounting 285/75 on stock 16x7 wheels

Hello all, getting ready to buy either BFG AT 285/75's or Nitto TG 285/75's to go along with the Sonoran Steel 1.2 lift. After searching around, it seems as if some people have mounted these tires on stock 16x7 wheels. I have seen other posts that say that some of the big name tires joints won't mount them on anything smaller than 16x7.5".

Does anybody know where I can get these mounted on the stockies? Also, can somebody reassure me that this will be ok?

Thanks, for fueling the addiction
Kit

Big O mounted 285's for me last year. Discount wouldn't. I've had no issues relating to rim size.

Got my 285/75 Nitto TG's mounted on the factory rims at NTB. No problems, either getting them mounted there, or with the tires being on the wheels. Getting ready to put them on some new 16x8s though, can't wait .

I mounted 285s (11.5" wide) on 7" rims.. no problem.

If they give you slack, ask them what the difference would be with mounting a 12.5" tire on an 8" rim ... which is very common.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will check out BigOTires soon, but I know they don't have Nitto's there. Maybe they will mount tires I can buy from 4WheelParts. I see they have 285/75 Terra Grapplers for $150/tire at 4WP. Or else I may have to break down and get some BFG A/T KO's.

A local tire shop mounted mine with no questions asked. They said it's actually common. I've run my 285's on stock wheels for 6+ months with no problems (except minor rubbing).

Dont just stick to Nittos, also check out the Toyos. Extremely similiar tread pattern, harder compound, deeper siping, and made in the same factory.
