More Horsepower!!

Wonderin? what engines people have put in their rigs... I have a 2.7 4 cyl. and I am lookin? to put in a engine with more displacement and power... There's no replacement for displacement!!!!! Lookin? for engines that are easy to put in and will give me a little more power since there is not too much you can do to the 2.7 to give you more power.

3.4 Swap is common, pretty easy to do. Also seen swapped 350 chevy V8's, 4.3L chevy V6's, and other stuff.

Easiest is swapping in a 4.3L chevy or the yota 3.4L.

and man if i had 1K
I would have had a Taco with a blown 22-RE
(was thinking project truck...)

If i could have talked the guy down to $500 for it I would have taken it...
It had a manual trans and a t-case that seemd pretty good and all it needed was a motor...
The previous owner already had the bed hurculines and the rear of the rear quatres of the bed on the outside hurnculined, so he did do some off-raoding...

It would have been my project truck, something for the 4Runner to tow around to places of off-roading when it was time (or another reat DD)

I believe that 3.4L engines are easy to find in decent size junkyards

yeah i have looked at l c engineering, they have some pretty nice mods yet you have to pay the price for them, as for the diesel swap, one they are tough to find and wondering how easy/hard it would be to put it in..

On low boost 250rwhp is easily obtainable from a 3rz (6-8psi) and all you have to do internally is swap in a metal head gasket. 3rz's and 5vz's are awesome turbo motors... boost is the displacement replacement...

There is a guy named Smitherz on uzswap.com who is performing a 1UZ swap into a 99 taco.

I personally suggest either the 1UZ, 7MG-TE, or 2JZ-TE swaps. Probably not the easiest, but they all produce a crapload of power and are all toyota :-)
