Mods completed on '99 SR5 Highlander
I'm new to this forum, but have been getting help from another. Jason wanted me to copy to this list so others may benefit from my experience...
The weekend came and went, and from it emerged a much sweeter 4Runner, if I may say so myself.
Considering that just putting air in my tires is a challenge, completing this transformation was daunting! However, if I can do it, ANYONE can.
Many thanks to Jason Burtman (Burtman Industries) and Mike Vespucci (Xtreme Offroad & Performance) for their products, as well as to several others who, through this forum, encouraged me and educated me on product selection and installation processes.
Here are the mods:
-- Removed front bumper and grille
-- Installed Jaos aluminum billet grille (way cool)
-- Installed TJM T15 bull bar
-- Installed Hella "Black Magic" driving lights
-- Modified circuitry to allow driving lights to operate independently from stock headlights
-- Installed PIAA H4 Xtreme White bulbs
-- Installed airbox deck plate
-- Installed black alteza taillight assemblies
Jason has graciously hosted some pics for your edification ...
Hopefully, if I copied/pasted correctly, you can view what my weekend and a select number of beers accomplished.
-- Don McNamara
(done with mods ... for now ...)

Hmmm..."Shadowfax" ...
Well, years ago I purchased a black 300ZX turbo and named it Shadowfax -- after a character in a book -- and I had that plate made. I still have that car, but don't drive it anymore. So, I took the plate off and put it on my '95 4Runner, but it just never seemed right (the '95 is such a DOG.)
When I did these mods, I tried the plate on for size and liked it. I think it will stay.
Long answer for a short question. Sorry.

Yeah, Shadofax, Gandalf's great steed. With the advent of the movie, I thought if I just said a "character from a book" I'd escape sounding like a total nerd.
However, with such a dandy 'Runner, I can't be TOO much of a nerd, can I? :-)

Haha, I must be a nerd too, because I am addicted to that book right now. I am in the middle of the second book, and I hope to finish it before the movie comes out in December! Alright, sorry for being off-topic.
