misaligned wheel
a couple months ago i got in an accident where the driver hit my front passenger wheel and corner of my TJM bumper with the front end of his car (small hyundai).
it knocked me way out of alignment, to the point of not being able to drive. so i took it to a shop, had them re-align it. that was the only apparent damange, except for some welding that had to be done to an alignment tab off the lower control arm.
after that alignment i noticed the front passenger wheel sat further back on the body than the driver side. that is, the front pass wheel was closer to the back of the wheel well than the other side. i figured after i get the welding done and a final alignment i'd be alright. well i had the welding done (thanks bruce) and went for an alignment today.
it was off like i expected, but the pass side wheel is still further back than the drivers. on the pass side, it's 3 fingers width from the wheel well trim, on the driver side it's 4 fingers width (scientific terms i know, but you get the idea). yet the wheels are in perfect alignment according to the machine. this wouldnt' be a problem but the pass side wheel rubs when stuffed, and i don't want any rubbing, esp offroad. before the whole accident, my 33s only rubbed slightly on the frame. the shop guy said maybe it's cause the upper control arm (camburg uniball) got messed up, but everything looks okay. any ideas on how to fix this?

something is bent... just a note, whats the caster reading? and does it drive in a stright line? most alignment places dont check or dotn adjust castor, and its possible it may be able to be fixed with adjsuting that... maybe.......

it does drive in a straight line. not sure on the caster reading, i'll see if i can pull that up, gotta run now. they did check the caster tho.
btw, the frame at least is supposedly straight.

i'm thinking a mount.
well, a few people who have looked at it said the frame looks okay. so i'm going with that. an ever so slight crack, but not really bent one direction or another.
i know it's hard to diagnos over the internet, i guess i'm just fishing for anyone with a similar experience.

What shop did you take it to? I grew up with a kid named josh whose dad owns Big Jon's Performance there in Valencia and Big Jon's Tire in Cyn Cntry. Josh works at the Valencia store(always worked there). If you get a chance, stop by ask for him and tell him your a friend of Tony Seabury and explain the situation. I'm sure they'll be able to find the problem and fix it for a really decent price.
I trust thier advise/recommendations and I stand behind thier work 100%. They're honest, and pretty quick getting the work done. Most importantly, they do Quality work. Put it this way, I wouldn't send my mom, or my sister whose 6 1/2 mnths pregnant there if I didn't have faith in the shop or work, period.
And if I remember correctly, they are the only shop who use Hunter tire/wheel balencers. (at both shops).
Sorry so long but....

Hey Cal......I'm Tony....hahaha! Go ask for Josh...you'll know him when you see him, he's about the same size as a small mountian. He's cool, and tell him I said what's up!!!

right. i typed it wrong but realized what you meant. can't expect that much coherent thought from me that early in the morning.
i did go there this morning, josh had a phone attached to his ear, but john helped me and had a guy look at my rig, says it's a bent upper control arm.

That's cool. Yeah, out of every1 that has worked there, Josh is the only 1 who has the patiece to get ˟˟˟˟˟ done on the phone. John can be aggressive at times but like I said, I don't trust any1 else, and they know thier ˟˟˟˟˟. They give a price on repairs?

Thats cool, I totally agree w/ the repair-money outflow thing. Gotta go back down to Atlas Springs and have the rears re-arch'd down a bit. The bounce from the 2 1/2 in lift is literally breaking my back!!! Ever neeed any help, you've got my cell # so....
