I have 99 4Runner with about 70K on it. I am getting about 16 MPG combined, is this about normal?

 

I'd say it's relatively normal, but you can certainly get more than 16 MPG.

 

with weather, traffic, etc all factored in, sure.

i have an '01 with just over 50k and i get about 17-18 when i try hard. if i give into my boston-driving ways, i get about 15-16.

on the highway, i once got about 22.

 

Thanks. It's been a pretty bad winter around here so I was thinking that the numbers were about right. I have a buddy that just bought a Honda Pilot and he gets about 19 MPg. I probably should not compare the two.

One more dumb question: If I Do the ISR mod, do you think that will help or hurt?

 

My '97 has 91k on it and I'm getting almost 19mpg if I don't have to use 4wd.

 

My 1996 with 110k gets about 20-22 highway (long trips)
.....otherwise I get about 16-19 in the city esp in winter.
