Metal Plate inside OEM Bumper???
Hi Guys,
Just a quick question. I was digging under the front bumper tonight of my 2000 4Runner, looking for a solid place to mount a couple of Hella 700's, and found a small metal plate welded to the inside of the bumper on the driver's side, just under the top plastic cap of the bumper. It is attached to what I would call the "body" of the front bumper, between the lower valence and the top cap - the only metal part of the front bumper. There is not a matching one on the passengers side and it does not seem to serve any purpose, other than being right where I want to sink one of my lights. Does anyone know why this 3 x 3 inch piece of metal is there? Can I just cut it off, or does it serve some magical purpose that I am unaware of? Thanks!
I can snap a picture of it tomorrow if that helps!
