Maybe a stupid question?

Hey I hope this doesnt piss anyone off but my friend might be selling me her 97 4runner for cheap, its a 3.4 4wd all stock with about 80K on it. Well I already have a 95 all built up for offroading and would like to make this a sporty SUV. Can I convert it to 2WD? How hard would it be, would it be worth it for 1/4 times? I dont want to buy a new tranny without a t-case and remove all the 4wd stuff and only end up loosing 300lbs. If I do end up getting it I plan on running a Roots type blower and doing a lot of performance mods to the truck. Thanks in advance

Only things I think you would remove would be the T-case, front driveshaft and a new tranny. How much does all thay way? You'd probably save more weight by gutting the interior, tear out the carpet and all but the drivers seat.

Buy it cheap then mark up the price and sale it. With that buy a cheap 2WD and do what you want with it

Buy it, resell it, buy an old el-camino or ranchero for your low-rider project.

Before I dismiss your idea for being completely outrageous, what kind of budget would you be working with for this type of ambitious project? There is that engineering company running around with that completely illegal stealth street killer (2nd gen?), after all...
