Mass Air Flow Mod 1997 4 Runner 3.4
when i made my air intake the other day, i thought hey maybe I should rip out that turbine looking thingy in there, pump up the air intake reading for the senros which i thought might increase some fuel etc etc
any thoughts on this? anyone done such a thing?

If you take it out the computer will go into open loop mode and you will get horrible gas mileage.
Maybe switching to a later model MAF (99+) might give you better airflow

Yes, the sensor is in there.

:pat: Hey guys, do you think it's safe to remove my intake tube all together? That way, I'll get TONS more airflow and the stupid filter won't slow it down. :pat:

Next time you need an answer about this stuff right away, try asking here. You'll get a response 10 times faster. But, don't forget to tell them the make and model. They tend to get angry when you leave out details.
