Manual Transmission Swap: Re-use my auto’s t-case?
I am buying a package of parts for a manual transmission swap from a guy who’s parting out a manual 4runner. The package comes with everything I need except for a transfer case. I hear conflicting reports on whether I can reuse my existing transfer case, which is behind the automatic transmission in my 4runner. If it bolts up and the input and output coupling is a match it looks like the only issue will be the shifter. Am I understanding this correctly?

Well I have learned that the transfer case in the 4runner is either an VF2AM or VF2BM. Judging by the naming protocol it seems to be a descendent of the VF1A/VF2A that I had in my first gen 4runner. All of which does not help me with my current question regarding the compatibility my transfer case with a manual transmission.
