Making a mold for the 2nd Gen Rear Cargo Area
In the next few weeks I plan on making a mold for the Cargo area of my 2nd gen. I need some ideas on how I should go about doing this. I built a box for my last runner but I would like something with a perfect fit and water tight spaces. My first idea is to use fiberglass, I'll be using this site as a ref http://web.njit.edu/~cas1383/proj/main/
My other idea was to go to a junk yard and use a filler foam to make a mold. With the foam idea I could shape the box then glass it after the design is made. Has anyone done this? Also, materials where to get fiber glass (cheap) and or foam and large amounts of it.

i've thought about doing something similar. Home despot has thin plastic painting tarps for about $1, i always keep a couple in the truck for hauling wet/muddy stuff. I think something like that as a barrier between the carpet & fiberglass might work. Maybe mist the carpet & panels with a little water first so the plastic clings too it. Never tried it, would they resin melt the plastic?
Might try boat supply places for fiberglass materials.
