MAF Sensor swap/borrow in SE WI?

I think I'm having a MAF sensor problem on my '96 4runner. The engine does the typical hesitations @ heavy to full throttle at around 3k and above.

Is there anyone in the southeast Wisconsin area (I live in New Berlin) that could help me out by swapping their part with mine for a brief test ride?

I'd greatly appreciate it if someone can help me out... shelling out $500 doesn't sounds like a good plan to me quite yet. I want to make sure it will fix things.

the cat and 02 front 02 sensor have been replaced. MAF was spray cleaned... but since I have the torpedo-lookin' one that doesn't seem to clean well, cleaning didn't do any good.

Can someone help me out in SE WI?

Thanks in advance,

Peter

That actually may be your TPS malfunctioning instead of your MAF.

Sorry, but I can't help you on the parts swapping thing.

hey fireteacher, i might be in the market for a new MAF, would you be willing to let that one go if a fellow yotatecher needed it?

TPS Replaced... thanks for the tip. I'm really focused on borrowing a MAF from someone if possible... just for a few minutes is really all I need. Hard reset of the ECU makes the problem go away for a couple miles.

Bonk, if you have a laptop, you might try getting something like this (BR-3) so you can see the sensor outputs:

You should be able to narrow it down more quickly than just guessing and swapping parts.
