Looking For A Piece For My 3rd Gen

I posted a copy of this in the Wanted to Buy section but figured I'd copy it here to double my chances. Apologies in advance if this is taboo and Admin's please feel free to delete if it is. Anyway, I technically need the caps at the end of the left running board. I would be willing to buy the whole left running board to get it though, or, for a reasonable price, a set of boards. The car is desert dune and the piece I'm missing is silver. If anyone has these for sale or knows of someone please let me know. Greatly appreciated

The left rear, where the endcap is missing:

The left front, where the other endcap is missing:

The end cap on the right side like the ones i need for the left:

Try the "Classifieds" section would be a good suggestion, if not that, then your local salvage yards for a wrecked one would be your next best bet.
Other than that, there's always your friendly neighborhood stealership.

I bet I know how you did that! The same thing has happened to me SEVERAL times on my 98. I finally scrapped the stock boards and got smitty nerf bars. MUCH better for offroading, and a hell of a lot less expensive when you figure in replacing those damn caps all the time.

Yea, just get rid of those running boards altogether. You'd be surprised at how nice it will still look w/out them. If thats too much for you then do what Yochdog said.

Haha, that happened to me too when I went on my last off-road trip (which busted my fender too, by the way).

It turns out the stealership has them on order (2-3 days) for about 30-40 bucks for the kind I have (which is a plastic one). Considering yours is color, yeah, you might be screwed 'cuz you'd have to paint it.

As someone said, I would recommend trying the salvage yard first and if you can't find anything maybe do try the stealership (and/or body shop) and see if silver is a common color for those (since silver is a common second-tone color anyways). If all else fails, just get a non-colored new one and pay to have it painted or go for a totally different running board which will save you in the long run.

If anyone cares, for my case (broken black plastic end cap) I made two hidden holes in the old one, zip-tied it to the running board, and spray painted the worked-on area black to make it look all right. Looks like it was never hurt. Innovation goes a long way, I wish that would help you in your scenario.

They are pricey, but try the Yoda Yard.
