Exclamation Looking for input on Borla Catbacks

Hey guys! With this Fathers Day special going on at PP I think it's time for my Catback. I been wanting one really bad lately. I would like to go the Magnaflow route and have one built but that's near impossible here in the UK. Anyways I am looking for some input on a Borla Cat for my 2nd Gen. Pro's Con's whatever you've got.
Thanks!

My brother has one on his '90 Runner V6 and IMHO sounds great. Got one on my '86 22RE and dad's '92 22RE and we're both happy w/ 'em. I just wish ours sounded like the one on my bro's Runner.

Joey, I just got off the tele with Stan at Stan's headers where I got Magnaflowed a few years back.

First off, he said to stay away from Borla.
He could be saying that too though since he does not sell them.
OK, I went out and measured my muff

It is 14" front to back not counting the tubes that come out that they attach the pipe to.
The front has the entrance in the middle.
The rear exit has the tube offset to the drivers side.

And, I did find the part # on my invoice, but I asked him to confirm it.
Part # for the 2.25" tubes is 11225.
If you end up using your stock piping (hope you don't) and it's 2", the part # is 11224.

All you should have to do now is order that muffler from Stan, or some other place online and get it shipped you in the UK.
Take it to a pro muffler shop and tell them to whip you up new 2.25" tubing from the cat back.
Any shop should be able to do this Joey.

Stan's Headers.

Corey, just out of curiousity, why did he say to stay away from Borla?

I am not sure. Could be that he is a total custom shop and carries Magnaflow, Dynomax, and a few others.

I think the Borla one is sold wholesale isn't it as a complete setup where you put it on yourself?
That would make him lose business

Corey thanks for the info. I will have to do some research over here and see if I can find a shop that can fab one up for me and compare costs. I suspect you were right on the money by saying Stan couldn't make any money with a system like Borla. Arnold was your brothers truck very loud or did it just sound....goooooodddddd??

Well I did it! I went ahead and ordered a Borla Cat from PP. Saved over 65 bucks with the 15% discount. Also apparently they don't charge shipping to overseas military addresses so I guess I did alright on the price. I will put up a post for sure on how it turn out when I get it. Thanks for the inputs guys

Yup, the Borla system is a bolt on in your driveway system. The Borla on my bro's Runner isn't loud at all. It has a throaty rumble to it, if that makes sense.

I've go a Borla/TRD on my Y2K and it does have a nice sound. I think it took me 30 mintes to install it in the driveway. Very nice. Very simple.

UK, congrats on the exhaust. Goodluck and I hope you like it. I am sure that you will. Anything other than stock will be better. The sound will be great and the performance will be alittle better. Enjoy and let us know what you think! :beaver:

Ryan and Arnold thanks for the good words. Makes me feel better spending that kind of money. Don't you just love impulse buying. I orginally just added it to my shopping cart to compare the price including shipping to 4wheelparts.com because they were running a special no shipping till June 14th. Anyways by the time I got the info filled in and got the price I just kept on plugging in numbers till it said confirm..... I just had to do it! IMPULSE BUYING - The way to go! hahaha
