Look what I made Saturday..
Now it was not my idea, but a new design (mostly what I was able to scrounge up in scrap at the Yankee Toys "Wrench fest" Saturday..
That is in fact an attachment for a Hi-Lift to jack off sliders.. I also added the tab to hook a chain shackle to (still have to drill the hole) Also, the hole in the box does line up for a pin, but it is out of alingment from the way I am holding it to take the photo..
I did test it out.. It is so stable it is not funny.. I jacked the truck about 15" off the ground (at the wheels) and rocked the jack.. normaly it would of slipped right out from under the slider.. Nope, she stayed right up there.. I was also able to get the use of a sandblast cabinet as well.. Now the only thing I have to get sanded it is the main jack bar and the handle... Gonna paint it all up tomorow!

Yea, I ground them a little to clean them up.. But I should of also mentioned that that is not one big massive weld glob under the pipe, there is a litle piece of angle iron making a flat surface.. then I welded the rest of it up.. (I did add a center bead of weld on the angle iron to "fill it in")
I may take a dremmel tool and grinder wheel to finish cleaning them up before I paint it..

Cool Idea - I had been thinking myself if there was a good enough reason to make something like this. You'll have to let me know if it really works well enough to justify making -buying etc. I never really felt to uncomfortable using just the normal HL but you may have something here.
Again- nice work!

Richard.. Night and day on how stable and safe it feels while jacking the truck now... If you have the access and the time, make one, you will not regret it.. The real problem lies in trying to jack on grade.. If you are down hill or up hill, itis a real pain to keep the jack under the truck.. This also allows you to let the jack piviot as the truck goes up too..

Yea, a little.. I had to design something with what I had around me and measure, cut, and weld in about 2 hours... So if I had it to do again I may make it a little "neater" but it will function 100% like this.. Plus, Dude.. I am like the master of storage!!
Ever see this??

Loved the site, VERY complete, forwarded the link to my friend who will appreciate it as well! I was only kidding about the sliders hehe, you need to produce those things and sell 'em....make some mod money!

An excellent idea to say the least. I think that it would be the perfect item to safely and protectively lift my rig by the sliders or the front and rear bumpers. I hope to acquire one or have one fabricated with neoprene or felt pads to protect the finish on my tubular armor.

In fact, the perfect addtion to your sig line.. hee hee...
I am also planning on some rubber glued to it.. that will also make it even less likely to move.. It is amazing how much more the jack feels firm now..
