Live4swell + Edge; Pics of HID for you...
Hi guys,
Here are the pics of my Catz HID kit. The Kelvin is 4300, pure bright white colour.
These pics were taken at 4:00pm in the rain, so it was dark out, but not full darkness.

It looks great, I like them a lot!!
Did you buy those in Canada? I think they made those HID kits illegal in the states, check out this information on it , maybe yotatech members can get help from canadian suppliers for kits ?!?!

Hi all -
Nolan: Yes, I bought them locally, but Catz are brought in to Canada from Japan through a US distributer. I got the last kit in my area.
Vato: It took my installer one afternoon, and even though the kit came as 'plug and play' we upgraded the setup with relays so as to not overload the factory wiring, and ran the power from the fuse box, for a cleaner install.
Mkool: Yup, you are right, I'm in Burnaby, right off Henning Drive.
Later!
Marco.

They might be illegal but I would do like Roccos_Van and have the install done neat and clean like it's stock that way no cop would ever question you, a 4th Gen 4Runner just tell him they came with it

I think, for now, they're just illegal for vendors to sell. I believe that for consumers, they're about as illegal as the hyper-white type of bulbs so it's going to be a little while before they actually start cracking down on cars that actually have them.
As Edge said, I doubt police would know that it didn't come stock if the installation is done cleanly, and that's even if they make you pop your hood. Cops have never given me a second glance and I have Bellofs (basically the Catz under a dif name) so it shouldn't be a problem for 4th genners since the body style looks more like the luxury SUV type.

There is no way a cop could know that the lights are not stock unless they were a 'car nut' and knew what cars had stock HID and which dont.
IMO, Catz and Phillips are the best kits. However, what many people dont know is that Phillips does not make a 'kit'. Kits are manufactured using phillips components such as bulbs and ballasts/igniters, then packaged with a some fancy name like "HID Plus" or "Extreme HID" stuff like that.
The Catz components are JDM spec for lexus/acura/infiniti etc. They are extremely high quality, hence the $500 US asking price.
This is the best upgrade IMO.
Marco.
PS - If you guys want to buy HID kits, there is a Canadian website selling Phillips. Here is the link:
