A little something for you guys (video!)

I finally got around to doing a decent video of Project SportRunner in action. It's posted up on my site.

Just click the 4Runner - when at my site, click it again and again and again!

I'd have posted straight to the video, but I'm trying to generate a little traffic, and you might see something else out there of interest.

ENJOY! Lemme know what you guys think.

You have an e-locker for the burnout in the video? How did you get both tires to spin?

Nice vid, only thing that would be better is a 1/4 milte track run and some driving around time without the music and just the truck.

good job!

Magic! Seriously, I used a tripod.

It's a TrueTrac LSD in the rear end, however as you can see from the video it gets power to both wheels quite effectively. I've had several different types of lockers over the years in several different vehicles and this TrueTrac is by far my favorite. Completely seamless to the driver other than giving you performance when you need it.

Haha, I don't drag race. It's an SUV!

I wanted to do a little driving around ala Top Gear, but ran into some problems. I couldn't find anyone that was decent at operating the camera to follow me around and the roads were crowded (took me 30 minutes to get the drive by shot).

I may try to add some of that type of footage down the road though if I can find a camera operator and another driver willing to sacrifice an afternoon.

Very nice Speedy. Your 4runner is possibly the best "sleeper" that i've ever seen here. Might as well say it is. Exterior mods (wheels & grill) are tastefully done in which they still keep the factory look and feel.

Have you timed a 1/4 mile yet? Who cares if it's a SUV/truck. I'd like to see your next video racing a stock V8 "fast car" ...that could go around the web as the biggest upset in racing history. lol

The video is well edited but the ending drags..shoulda been shortened a bit.

What he said, who cares if it is an SUV? Run a 1/4 mile and see what happens.

I can proiss you will have a good time and most place only charge a few bucks for the whole night.

Nice Speedy! Now be honest, did you oil up the rear tires for that burn out?

I'll look in to doing a couple of quarter mile runs. I typically baby this thing as I'm just too anal to be rough on it, but I'll look into doing one or two runs just for the heck of it.

Absolutely NOT. I didn't even use water! The truck will just light them up on command pretty much. Coming in my my neighborhood there's a decent S curve and I've actually had it break loose and slide sideways coming through that when I give it a lot of go pedal. That's on perfectly clean and dry pavement as well. Quite surprising.

That is impressive then! I'm pretty sure I could do that if I spray up the tires real good with Armor all LOL. Did you have your foot on the brake or something, seems like you're just sitting there spinning?

He was power braking from what i could tell.

In an auto that is sometime the only way to get the rears spinning since you can't dump the clutch. Hold the brake in just right and press the gas to the floor. Even an NA will do it if done right.
