right now amongst the pbb guys, the idea is to fit as big of tires with as little lift as possible. this is to make a more stable rig.

my pickup can run 33s with little rubbing, i'm gonna take a sawzall to the fenderwells a beat on the firewall with a bfh, then use chevy springs in the rear and rear toyota springs in the front(with bananna shackles). this setup should run 35s fine with a little tweaking

 only things that are gonna run me a bunch of cash are new diffs, crossover arm and steering box(gonna use a rock rod or homeade tie rod with traditional low steer, since i don't want to have to run a big lift to clear the drag link), and possibly some super birfs.

the best thing about it is, the more i research, the cheaper it gets

what good is a bodylift going to do for a guy woried about guttin his truck on something laying in the road. all the important stuff is still the same height off the ground? body lifts are strickly for larger tire fitting. The cheapest 4 inch sus. lift i've seen is a genuine suspension lift kit for like 530$ and a system with new rear springs for like 730. You can get this at wheelparts. some places like National Tire and Wheel sale the same type of lift for the same price in like 4wheeler mag. adds. but i've never met anyone who's bought a lift from them so not sure how it would work out. Another option could be to just buy a bunch or skid plates for everything down under and forget about lifting.

I am going to have to disagree there...

What about:

Approach/Departure angle increase
Looks
Ease of installing headers, etc.

I do agree with that. Unless of course his front lip is 2IN from the pavement...
