So what springs did you go with? OME891's or OME890's? What shocks did you go with? OMEN86's or OMEN86C's?

What kind of lift did you get front and rear?

Question Lift?

Was that about a one or two inch lift? Wait until you go four, then seven, then nine, and end up looking like your Runner is on steroids at twelve inches. Im at four for now, body lift at another three is next!

Hey BBB,

How do you like those TXR's? I was thinking about getting those instead of the MT's.

Why are you going to put in a body lift? Larger tires or to go through deeper puddles? That's about all they are good for besides raising the COG, making capsizing easier. You should put that money towards lockers or something that would actually help on the trail. not knocking you I'm just more of a functional mod kind of guy.

Utt ohh...I think we've had this war before. Body lifts dont raise your COG all that much. With the clearance you gain in larger tires, I think its damn worth the price. More than 3 inches I agree is atoo much, but 2-3 is fine. Its not gonna make you capsize much easier as most of the weight isnt moved.

Personally, I love my body lift. If it werent for it, Id rub like crazy or not be able to clear things as easily on the trail. But I did put my locker in before the BL. But the cost of a BL is penies compared.

Hence, the reason I asked "why." say what you like but 7 inches body is pretty significant towards cog especially if you have a roofrack with a spare up there. Now i know he said nothing about that but I was just saying... that's why I wanted to know if he had plans of larger tires. Ask Mike at Xtreme what he thinks about those racks and the tire up there and how that made him, oops, makes a runner capsize easier. no war being looked for here dude, besides you agreed that more than 3+ is a bit much, probably for the reasons I stated, now, had he said 2-3 my question would have only been about the tires, rest assured.

Read his post...it says 3 inch body lift. Yeah racks + stuff on them will make anything tip easier though. If you have a huge suspension lift and stuff on top vs a huge body lift whith stuff on top...suspension will tip first.

TXR vs MT

Mad, I really enjoy the TXRs for in town or non aggressive offroading but would also like to have an extra set of MTs for aggression that builds up while getting stuck in town during the work week.

Anybody running the Downey springs in the rear on a 4wd? I'm very interested to see what kind of lift you got.

Why so much lift?

Keisur, I am interested in playing in the hills but I mainly pund pavement in my Runner. I am all about lift and looks than lockers & other gadgets. If I am able to offroad without issues as it is I see no reason to invest in upgrades for my underside. I see your point but I just wanna have a BIG TOY. Oh and "its not IF you will roll your toy, its how you drive your toy". The guys that roll their toys are the guys that take corners at 50.

Timber!

I am going to get the three inch body lift but have not done so yet. I was thinking about going with a roof rack to mount a thirtyfive inch tire & high lift jack on but have not done so yet. I see what you guys are saying and will weigh my options now that I think about it. I am not an extreme offroader, I just like to take my Runner up to play but mainly roll around town. Rolling has not been a worry of mine.

2 years and no sagging. I have the 3 inchers...but they probably gave about 2.5 inches of lift. But add the big ass box I have in the back and I got about 2 inches.

Thanks man! That's exactly what I'm looking for: 2.5" in the rear and 2" up front on my new 1997 I'm picking up soon.

I understand, really I do. but I am just thinking, with 7 inches of body lift, that much frame exposure would kind of look silly on a runner. the statement about the 50 mph corners is for street 4runners, I know people going .25 mph offroad and roll it. Really I'm just jealous because without any major surgery on my runner, I could only go up about another inch or maybe two.

jeez, I think I'll trade up my OME springs for the Downey 3.5"ers then. Looks like Mike going to get more bidness from me sometime this summer.

go higher

there is never enough space between your tires and fender wells.
If you put 33's on it your gonna want more room.
