Mike,
Yeah, there definately was water on the inside... notice how the parkint lights are on? yeah... thats the alarm brain going because its on the low side. The horn went til it burned it self out. I'd be damned if I was going to get into some chigger infested water to grab onto a 12v battery lead! No thanks... I ended up getting a flat bed tow truck out there. Luckily for me the hole was right by the dirt road. Kind-of funny... I think it was my maden voyage with the lift too! Maybe 2nd or 3rd time, but I definately had just gotten the lift that week.

That's nuts dude! Crazy how those maiden voyages end up teaching us a lesson... Or not.

i almost got stuck today trying to get sideways in a field right next to the freeway .... put er in 4hi and rocked it out though .... woulda sucked if i hadda explain that to my dad

Heres a couple of my buddies cars taken up at arcata, ca

lifted 2wd ranger

then we hi centered the cherokee, and we yell over the dune, "hey austin, were stuck"

and he goes, cant help ya!

luckily there was another buddy there with a land rover that got em both out .... then the ranger was rocking back and fourth to get out of something else and the header got a tad hot

then there was the time the guy with the jeep didnt go sideways enough over this concrete burm to clear and hi centered the damn thing. If you look closely you can see the wheels off the ground

you were hung up on the diffs. I think you'd a just dug in deeper. Just remeber to put it in neutral next time somebody gives you a pull, haha.

I was just out there today, and man that thing is deep! I saw a big dodge go through it and it DROPPED in where you were and looked to be about 3 feet deep with a center high spot that you hung up on. those dang rednecks with 44" boggers rut that place out all the time.

Got mine stuck Couple weekends ago I went on a little turnoff in the snow and sunk to the frame. Didn't get pictures cause I was too busy trying to dig out then help came in the form of another Toyota Almost made it back onto the road, only 3 feet to go.

The coldest and muddiest I've ever been. It was in the 30s, and started to rain once the truck became stuck. 3 hours later...

yeah he hydrolocked it. I had to pull him all the way back through that trail (which was tricky) then up a creek, then up a huge steep hill, while I was winched to another 4runner.

afterwards we pulled all his plugs, and let it drain.

Ah so that's why he got a snorkel, good thinking, there goes that lesson thing. I usually see that most mods stem form mistakes made and our attempts to not let them happen again.

One thing I've always wondered is, after you get that much water and mud in your interior, is it possible for it to ever smell right again? Also what kind of cleaning process is that like, do you strip the whole interior or what? Austin, or INsr5runner, let me know. I think I'll stick to rocks, pictures like that remind me how much I hate mud.

I don't know how he got the smell out, but he did! I think he just left the windows down for a few days, then had the carpets shampooed. not sure though.

that swamp we were in had over 2030495 JILLIAN mosquitoes in it though! yuck! I had like 200 bites after that!
