Length of oil dipstick?

Changed my oil & filter Saturday. Using the rec'd 3614 filter and 5.5 quarts of Mobil One 5-W30 Synthetic and my oil level only came up to the 1st mark. I checked to be sure filter and drain plug were tight.

Recently had an injector replaced at my trusty neighborhood garage. When I got home I checked the oil level. At that time I thought the dipstick looked different but didn't give it much more thought.

All previous oil changes filling with 5.5 quarts has always shown the level at the 2nd mark or just above.

How can I find out what the proper length the dipstick should be? If I add another quart am I asking for problems? After the oil change I even made sure I used 5.5 quarts of oil.

I'm puzzled. Appreciate anyone's assistance.

Ahh after a simple google search on the number I have found that it is a fram filter...
I always wonder why A guy would go with a good truck and good oil but a crap filter???
Go to toyota and get a stock filter or go with a better parts store filter and your engine will last longer

I'm pushing the 200K mark with Fram 3614 high mileage filters. What's up with that? Maybe you think they're crap but to get that kind of mileage, I'm happy. Can't argue with 200K and I don't know crap about oil filters other than I've been using Fram for the past 32 years.

What I find interesting is I didn't ask anyone's opinion about oil filters so thanks for nothing. I believe I was inquiring about the proper length of the oil dipstick.

Sorry... I don't boast. You were being critical of my choice of filters (which wasn't the reason for my post), so I acknowledged. I see this is worthless as you don't understand. Go ahead and type your response so you can have the last word.

Peace Out.

Your guy probably broke the dipstick and replaced it. I've noticed mine wants to bend a lot when I push it back in. My 93 engine never did that, but my 2001 5VZFE does. I have seen several of them break, my 2001 Taco dip stick was broken when I first got it.

This is where mine was broken:

I agree, lets save the oil filter debate for another thread. Like this one maybe: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f123...r-info-206601/

17 and 1/16" under 3/4" to the seat of the handle!! is what mine measured...

I apologize for being some what critical the only reason is that I asked what type of filter you used, I have seen the suggested filter on some posts for a napa filter that uses another 1/2 quart of oil to fill then since you did not respond I searched and found a FRAM...

You can use what you like and again I apologize for criticizing!!!!

You did say you use Synthetic if I remember so that is a great Choice!!

Just remember when I say seat of the handle I mean where the handle sits on the tube!!This is the longest and seemingly most important measurement!!

Part of the reason I mentioned the filter is I ended up replacing my engine at 265,000 and guy before me used FRAM!!!
Too short of a life and I am using better filters and synth. on my new engine!!!
