So I already have this LED 3rd barke light installed and I want to get a pair of the LED tail lights now.

Should I just mount one of these resistors on the 3rd brake light wires before I put the LED tails on to stop the ABS light problem?
I wanted to confirm this was the correct resitor for the LED 3rd brake light. ( to get it to work with LED tails)

Sorry if I overlooked the answer, I searched and came up with these.
I want some confirmation before I order LED tails. Thanks, D

Hey guys! I made my own LED CHMSL a while ago but never got around to posting pics. I used the stock housing and designed a PCB for my setup. I personally like more densely packed LEDs than the one that is currently being offered for sale. The pictures are taken a bit darker than usual to show more detail. For brightness comparison, I am using the stock 2002 tail lights and during the day, my LED CHMSL is slightly brighter. I hope you all enjoy!

It's about time they made one. Now they just need to make an LED 3rd brake light for the 2nd gen.

I am definately putting this one in the pipeline. I am about to install all new LED's for the interior this weekend and was then planning on buying a pair of LED tails. This will definately complete the package!

I'm gonna go with the standard red LED 3rd brake light.

I like it! I made my own as well... and I also like it better. Did you sand down the lense at all to get rid of the pillows? I can't tell exactly from the picture... I did that and it looks a LOT better now. Here is a picture before I sanded down the lenses:

Can You guys running all LEDs confirm this resistor for the 3rd brake light so I wont have ABS issues?

David, i ordered the 6 ohm 50 watt resistors, which is what others have used.

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/a...-tails-128796/

thats basically the reason i bought 6 ohm.

Thanks pdyebrasil! Yours looks awesome too! I didn't sand down the 'pillows', but I designed the PCB so that the LEDs perfectly coincide with the 'pillows'. I like the effect it has on my CHMSL. As you move side to side the LEDs almost flicker, but because of the spacing I chose, still look very uniform.

I am running both led tails, and third. Everything seems to be working just fine, or atleast it was when i left my truck back in september. Havnt had any problems with leaking, or ABS, the one time i did have a problem with ABS, i unhooked the battery, let it sit, and hooked back up. Light went away. I never installed the 6 ohm resistors, and things seem to be working like a charm. All my light on the back of my 4Runner are LED, i replaced the bulbs in the reverse and turn signals on the rear. Havnt done the fronts yet, but thats going to be done when i get home.
