Reviving an old thread.

I went out to my 4Runner and found some water pooling in my driver floor mat. I was barefoot and felt water dripping on my left foot. Anyone else suffering this problem? I have recently installed a 1" 4Crawler body lift, but I'm not sure if they are related. I haven't been running the A/C, so I don't think that's the cause. I put down some newspaper to try to locate the site of the leak.

If it's coming from the fresh air vents at the bottom of the windshield, the drains are clogged. Each side drains out somewhere around where the bottom of the door mates the body. Run water directly into the vent intakes, and if it doesn't come out there, you may need to loosen the bolts that hold the body panels together right there at the botom of the door. I'm no body guy, so I don't know all the exact names of things, but that's been my experience. I park under mesquite trees, and they drop small little leaves, seed pods, stems, you name it all over my trucks, clogging those vent intakes constantly. About 4 times a year I have to take the body panels loose down at the bottom of the doors and clean out the crud that's built up with a knife or standard screwdriver. Normally I have to clean the vent intakes out with air about once or twice a week to keep them clear. Real pain, but it's either that or park them out in the sun, and around here that falls nicely into the "bad things" category! And since I'm a heavy smoker, if I have the cabs closed up to run the AC or heater, I need the ventilation! There's a fairly long gasket that seals the ducting system under the dash with the vents. If it's gotten old/loose/crumbly that may be where you're getting the water in. Not all that hard to get to, but you have to pretty much take the passenger side of the dash apart to get to it.

Hope all that rambling helps a little...

leak

Let someone spray your truck with a hose while you look for the leak under dash.My 2004 leaked around the main wiring harness boot on the passenger side under the hood. You may have to pull carpet up to find it.There is also a grommet around the ac drain tube that can also let in water.Good luck.
