Leaf spring question

Leaf spring question
I know that this should go in the off road section, but this also goes for on road too.
I just got some new leaf springs for my truck today. I ordered some skyjacker 4" leafs, problem is they are 6". I thought that I could take out one of the 3 main leafs, the smaller one, and have around 4" of lift, and a lot better articulation. I know that the springs are DESIGNED to have all leafs in it, but is it dangerious at all to do this? thanks, David

nope, no danger, but it wont lower you truck. it will bring it down about a half and inch, and give a much flexier suspension out back, with a better ride.
if you are going to do this, remove the leaf 2nd from bottom. dont take out a main leaf, these are the strength of the spring. or you could take out the leaf below the mains, that would prolly work better, but might make them a litle too soft
