K&N Cai Installed!
So, here is how it all went down. I decided this past week that I was going to get an Airaid Mit tube. Then today I was looking around on Craigslist and saw this. Ended up getting it for $100! Hopefully, I should have my Optima battery this weekend as well. I can get one hell of a deal on them right now $115 out the door (Red Top 34/78). If anyone near me wants in, just send me a Pm.

Honestly, The specs are not real impressive. I really just wanted to do away with all of the isr crap. Its running great... I went all out when I installed it in put in new spark plugs, clean the tb and the maf sensor. I went from averaging 18mpg to 20mpg!

good luck with it. I put a K&N CAI on my '05's 4.0. my butt dyno made me think I had a ton of HP, took it off after 8 months and 10K miles, my MAF sensor was getting crap all over it and the engine was actually sucking in more hot air. that little rubber deal did not seal very well. Actually sold it on ebay for more than I paid for it

Ok, since we're on the subject of intakes here.... What's the best one? I need to replace my factory one because it's cracked. If it wasn't for that, I'd just do the ASR and deckplate. I'm worried about doing one of these tube style ones and then going off road. Any thoughts?

Is the box cracked or the tube? If its the tube get a Airaid MIT. If its the box just seal the cracks, if its messed up get a AFE with a Pro Dry filter(doesnt need oiling). Its a shame that folks spend big money on these intakes and get no gains...sometimes a drop in power. Just because you hear it doesnt mean power. I had a AEM with a dry filter...hated it. Took it out and sold it to some kid. I told him your not going to feel any power, its just going to make noise....he said he didnt care he likes noise.

if you have any issues get a brute force dry air filter and throw on there
that will do away with all of the oil screwing the maf issues and
also the whole oil in the intake thing as well!

With the full tube you are seeing increased throttle response more than any real HP gain since the throttle body can only flow so much air so the HP gain is more at the airbox and the filter thus is why the deckplate mod is just as effective.
