For the first time on my 93 Pickup and all I have to say is I get much better throttle response and my idle just purs like a kitten. I filled some seafoam in my gas tank, and also in the vaccum line. everything is smoother now. If you have never tried seafoam, MAKE A RUN DOWN TO SHUCKS!

I agree, I too am a very big fan of what Seafoam has done to my 1st gen BUT I would strongly suggest others to read the Seafoam thread and decide for themselves whether or not to.

As for me, my idle used to fluctuate but it is pretty steady now. I'll be replacing my sparkplugs soon and fixing the leak in my exhaust manifold. That will be a sweet day

Which typical stores carry it here in NorCal?? It sounds like the miracle cure for cancer, but I have looked and not seen it at any auto store.

I just want to run some through my gas tank at 40k miles, dont need drastic treatment.

 

I first tried seafoam several years ago in a 14 horse lawnmower engine that had an exhaust valve sticking open ( had to pop the head each time ) every time I mowed. I put half a can in the gas and poured a bunch down the old carb. Never stuck again and lasted until I could rebuild over the winter. Next I tried a can in my 89 yota 4x4. Unless i have a real good imagination it idled better than it had in years.

 

i think napa has it, but i know that allied auto parts in fremont does have it for sure.....

 

Napa and other auto parts stores have it. If you don't find it there, you can get it online and even on ebay.

usually about $5/can.

 

I never saw it out in the open in every place I went. I ended up finding it at NAPA after asking for it. I wish I could remember the part # but according to the 2 NAPA shops I've been in here in San Diego the stuff sells out fast and they all know what it is when I ask for it.

 

I dunno about that there buddy, I believe I have that sign-off copyrighted!

im gona have to change my O2 sensor because of seafoam.

 

Did you guys who had problems with it just put it in the gas tank, or did you pour it through the manifold as well?

 

I put a bottle in today after I filled the tank up.

Results await.

 

It can gum up the O2 sensor if you pour it in the intake, however it does really clean things out and help the engine run better. I did that on my 4runner. The CEL came on for an hour, then went off and was fine after that...

I'm picking up my "new" 03 Tundra tomorrow, first thing I do is going to be running a can in the gas tank. May as well start out fresh.

as a suggestion for those of you who are about to change out your 02 sensors, keep them on, do the seafoam treatment, and then replace the gummed up 02 sensors w/ the new ones.

keep old ones just in case some other YT member in your area wants to do it too

Both of my vehicles (my 93 Accord with 313K miles) werent affected after I seafom'ed them, twice. They billowed smoke, but I diddnt notice any improvements.


Although, my snowblower could use a treatment. Where in the world would I suck up seafoam on a snowblower? It's a 3hp 2cycle Tecumseh motor.

 

If anyone gets the napa part number let me know. I went into the one in our town here and asked for it and they looked at me like I had three eyes. Little northern Canadian towns for ya.

 

That's the reaction I'm expecting to get down here in Fl....lol
