well i found a guy who had thought the motor finaly went on the ol runner.. drove 90 miles to go get it wether it had a bad motor or not.. he kept telling me "its blown head gaskets or threw a rod, because its leaking oil everywhere" when i turned it over it sounded like no compression except one cyl, i imidiatly thought HEADGASKET!! so i gave him 700 bucks pulled it home and pulled the main timing cover off all i saw was the belt was torn up on the back side i was like k wtf!?i pulled #1 plug put the crank on 0 and made sure #1 cyl was up, BAM timing gears were way off! looked closer and the bearing went bad on the water bump and was making the belt hit the pump itself. the shredded pieces of the belt wrapped around the pully on the belt creating a smooth circle causeing the timing to slip!
im pretty excited that all it needs (i think) is a water pump and timing kit!!
just thought i'd share
arent the 3.4 5spd elocker runners fairly rare?

notice where the timing marks are (this is with the crank on tdc)
you can kinda tell how crooked the pully on the water pump is, and you can see where the t-belt is touchin the pump.
this is the shreds of the timing belt (what caused the timing to slip)
this is her
the bad
her younger sister
hangin out..
the two burnout marks are from my broken tranny supra. HAHA

I'd say keep it for a while and save some money on fuel. That's the kind of vehicle you can drive for awhile and save money, then when you get tired of it sell it and make some more money. It will quickly pay for itself in fuel savings.
