Yeah, my thinking as well. In retrospect, I wish I would have added some type of extension that actually went into the fender instead of just facing it. Of course, who really knows how much HP that would be worth, if any.
Mark and I have already discussed data-logging intake air temps for various configurations. I guess the ECU monitors IAT anyway, it's just a matter of "catching" the signal, deciphering it, then plotting it in a spreadsheet or similar. That would be cool.

yea theres a blue piece that they attached to the side of the airbox where the elbow is....i then removed the elbow like normal, but the blue piece is still there....its similar to a small roll of painters tape if you can picture that

OK, got it. So it sounds like this blue piece is essentially doing what Dale and I have been thinking; extension of the airbox piece into the fender. Cool. I wonder if TRD got the elbow mod idea from gadget (along with the Free FMU mod)?
