The interior light bulb number?

The interior light bulb number?
Would like a bit more light.
I want to put a bright white bulb in my Tacoma.
Right now there's a yellowish dull bulb at the rear view mirror.
Any problem with putting a bright white halogen bulb in that socket?
Anyone got a bulb number?

That's the number for what they call the Step/Courtesy light.
The site Troudt gave me has DE3175 is the number for the Dome light.
I assume the light by the mirror is considered a Dome light or is it?
This site has the Hi-Intensity Super Whites.Though I'll try AutoZone or Strauss stores first.

Actually I just found EBay has the same two pack for a Buy it Now $9 +$4.50 shipping.

If youre looking for bright white light I'd suggest using a name brand like piaa or polarg. Even though people are split between their headlight bulbs, I think most will agree that their wedge and dome bulbs are pretty good. Dont get cheap generic ones because they are not going to be as bright or as white. Trust me, I've gone through a few sets of different kinds of bulbs to test color match and the generic ones just arent any good.

The link above is a Polarg bulb.
The EBay seller is also Polard at a "buy it now"$13.50 w/shipping.
Other sites have the Polarg 3175 at $14.99 and the PIAA's at $17.99 plus shipping.
Will give AutoZone a shot today to see what they have.If nothing good I'll go EBay.

Well I got a 2pk Polarg DE-3175 fuse type bright white bulbs which are the same as the 3022 bulbs today in the mail and it don't fit.
Seems the Tacoma cab plus trucks have the DE-3175 12V 10W 10MM X 31MM bulb.
The regular cab's have a 8MM X 28MM 12V 5W fuse type bulb.I ordered one from JC Whitney.
I got the 3175 bulb in,sort of and it worked but I would rather go with what bulb size is correct.Just in case something happens.

It should do the job. That 10W was nice, tho.
I hate that yellowish dull light the stock bulb illuminates.

burning plastic
I agree about being careful putting hotter bulbs. Not sure when it happened, but I bought mine with a hole burned thru the plastic cover. Plus they evidently used a larged sized bulb, so now the contacts are streched out & I have trouble keeping the stock bulb in. Would love to find a good retrofit for the whole unit, if anyone has any ideas.
I've been looking (thanks to links on yotatech) at these bulbs for a cool bright replacement

and maybe at these to do the foot well light mod
