installing camburg arms, some problems
Im having problems, for one my current tundra coils and top outs are so tall that it makes the balljoint hit the coil, i read through one thread that they used a tie rod fork to jam it into the balljoint, im puttin no camburg arms and i have dhoe extended coilovers im putting on later on. I have removed castle nut and cotter pin, but i cant get the arm free from the stud.
Any suggestions? I have beaten the stud to death, beaten up on the arm, jacked the lower arm up to about level and it still wouldnt come free.
any ideas?

stud is out, the upper arm is free
now how the hell do i get the long bolt out to get the arm off?
and how do i use these forks to get the balljoints off the spindles?
edit: bent back inner fender lining to get the incredibly huge bolt out.
now its on to ball joints, get the arms secure and do the other side.

i dont have a 3rd gen i have a second so it was easy for me....but from what i can see it looks like you need to have the ball joints pressed in and out...
or
see if there is a c clip around the top of the ball joint below or at the rubber boot if there is take it off and try to beat it out

going to get this pin out to take the rest of the boot off and c clip will come out then i guess ill hammer it out afterwards. Fresh set of mind tomorrow morning, bright and early and ill let everyone know how it goes.

Yes, the upper ball joint is pressed into the spindle. There is a retainer clip under the boot.
IIRC, the slug (shown in one of your photos) also has to be pressed into the spindle to accept the uni-ball.
While replacing my ball joint, I did not have good luck with a rented hand press from Autozone. IMO, these should be done with an actual hydraulic press.
The tool you show is called a pickle fork. It is used to remove the tapered end of a joint from it's base, commonly used for tie-rod ends; not these type of ball joints.
ALSO: when you re-install the long bolt for the UCA make sure you tighten to specs. I had one of those back out on me.

Use a balljoint press tool and it will come right out. Good luck with the thumb, Oh and the Runner also!
