HOw do I adjust the a arms back to stock height. Different tires and the spacer make the measurement fornt the fender absolete? Can I tell by the lower a-arms? Should they be float across the front of the truck or should they angle down some?

The measurement from the top of the rim to the fender will still be a good way to check (15 inches or less I believe) I like the cv axles to be slightly lower (about an inch) at the wheel ends. The pictures at the top of this thread are a good example of too much angle on the cv's.

You might be able to just drill a new drain hole, rather than taking them off and flipping them.

Mt goat,

your axles are an inch lower at the wheels. Are you measurring the axles and not the other suspension stuff under there?

Also, does anyone make disconnects for the front sway bar?

I'm on the fence.. it's work to take that stuff apart but not that much work. Here's the thing, even if you put a hole in it, unless the hole is flush with the ball joint, some water can pool there. Whether there's .25" or 1" of water, water is water and it's the ball joint you have to worry about. It will be wet either way. If you drill too close to the joint, you could damage it... though you'd have plenty of warning. The other issue is accesability. I figure the wheels need to come off because you want the holefacing outwards (where the notch would have been) since that's the direction water will run. At that point you are darn close to just flipping them over. Add drilling time I'd say you are 2/3's of the way to flipping them.

I'd say play it safe and just flip 'em. Much of the initial work is the cutting. With that already done you should be able to disconnect the sway bar, pull the wheels, put something under the UCA, and flip 'em inless than an hour.

Frank

The only thing I measure is from the ground to the fender rim and that's just to get it level. I just eye ball the cv angle, as you can see from this pic there isn't much angle on them http://community.webshots.com/photo/...46850258xPOAND I'm not saying you can't go with more angle than mine, especially if you have manual hubs, I'm just saying the pictures at the top of this thread are too much angle, even for just moderate 4 wheeling. You can also see my sway bar discos in the same pic, they were made by http://www.frontrangeoffroadfab.com/disconnects.htm They are quick to disconnect but not so fast to reconnect, still faster that unbolting and rebolting the stock one though.
