I just installed my deckplate about 30 minutes ago. let the sealant sit for awhile and started it up. in idle and revving it i didnt notice any diffence in sound or the rpm's. where, if at all will i notice the difference?

Everything was much better....acceleration, mpg, sound.....everything!

ah.. I didn't have my stock filter on for too long after I did the deckplate. I did notice a difference but I didn't know if it was related to the ISR mod that I'd done at the same time.

when I did a deckplate in the 2.7L, I did not notice any performance difference between different filters. Only in the noise, with the K&N being a bit louder than an Amsoil or a stock paper. Performance-wise, I would say they all were the same. Although back when I first did it, the louder K&N was telling me that must be the better of the three. I would say that you will hear the difference when you are pushing it hard at high rpms, like what has already been said. I also thought it was a little quieter at cruise control freeway speeds, like the engine was having an easier time or something.

There are some people that suggest doing that will reset and allow the engine to re-learn the air intake. I don't know the details but I figure it couldn't hurt

What I noticed right away after installing the deckplate (besides the growl at 3/4 to WOT) was better off-the-line performance. I swap from the Amsoil to the paper when I clean and reoil and don't notice much, if any, difference between the two.

Nice difference
when i put my deckplate in I also did the ISR mod and together i have been nothing but happy with it.... in the first 30 minutes i was still unsure because it sounded like my old honda with the rice intake, but i learned to like it very quick. People often give me compliments while riding in the Runner. Also i noticed when i drive on the highway there seems to be no exhaust noise... enjoy

i put the 4'' deck plate in and used a LOT of black sealant for a nice tight finish. K&N air filter is what i put in. i noticed the difference in the higher rpms and i love the sound of it. it really keeps my RPM's up when im shifting and makes the shift smoother. overall im happy with the performance and im happy with the K&N air filter. i didnt spend 50 bucks on a sticker.
