Inside spare tire mount for 1st Gen 4Runner?

I want to get my tire inside. Does anyone make amount that would attach it to the roll bar?

I've googled my tookus off and haven't found squat.

Thanks.

Go custom

How about picking up a spare tire holder like for all the roof racks out there?

You could get something like that, and have a fabber bolt it to a plate (tab) that he welds to your roll bar.

Kind of like what I did here for my Power Tank.

The fabber welded a tab to the mini roll bar, then the fire bottle bracket for the PT bolts to the tab.

I bet that would work out great.
Also check with Steve where he got the tire mount he put on his new bumper.

Sure, I've seen people mount them to the rollbar vertically. You could make a bracket out of flatbar that threads into that hole in the rollbar and then goes through one of the lug holes or something. I've also seen spares placed horizontally on the trunk floor in first gens--takes up some space, but it's another way to go.

I wouldn't put a spare on the roof of mine. I'd probably find some way to knock myself out with it trying to get it up or down from there. And then there's less room for the canoe!

You could get a tailgate mount from a 6 lug Isuzu and weld/bolt it onto the roll bar...

Here's one from a raider, could weld right onto the inside of the bar. Gives an idea of what you'd have to clear back there...
