Inner tie rod replacement
Hey guys!
Well my 96 4Runner with 224XXX miles needs new inner tie rods (which are pricey) its now MOOG VS Napa Parts (napa cost less)
Well I have looked and am unsure on how to replace that sucker. Im looking a pic and am not 100% sure how to do it.
A quick run down would be nice.

I have never done it on the 4Runner but I have done it on a car, so I will just comment on that. There is a special tool that is used to hold the outer tie rod end and the steering rack while you remove the inner tie rod end (and boot) and get the new one in. I am not sure if you need the special tool to remove the inner tie rod end on the 4Runner but I can imagine they are similar. Otherwise you will have to remove the outer tie rod end and ball joint (on the end of the tie rod end) and replace the inner tie rod end, then reassemble.

Here's a thread to get you started... the process is very nicely laid out in the FSM, if you have access to one, too.
