Talking I'm new

I'm new at this site and i just wanted to say it's a awesome site for all who own toys. I'm a 17 yr. kid who drives a 88 4runner with 2 inces for lift to fit 32 in. pro comp muds. i have a K&n intake and a flowmaster exhaust. Pro comp Es3000 at each cornor for shocks and a pro comp pre runner bar with 2 100 watts procomp lights. dual tow hooks at the front and side nerf bars.to top it all off i replaced the old hubs with manual Warn locking hubs and a smitty built rear step bumper.

My question is what would be the best locker for a daily driver if i'm only getting a rear one and don't want to spend a whole lot of money?

i'm guessing arb would be the best way to go for you. sorry, can't give you much information off hand, but do a search on the board for arb locker and tons of info will come up. it's a part time, air locker for the rear.

btw, welcome to the board

if it's a daily driver and you don't go offroad, i don't see any sense in getting a locker.

or try a supra limited slip differential swap in the rear. it's not a true locker, but it's better than open diffs when going offroad.

and i would've rebuilt the manual hubs, although warn hubs are good they can't beat the stock aisins.

if you wanna go cheap for a locker get a lockright, although i haven't heard how well they perform you can install it yourself if you're mechanically inclined. id recommend a limited slip tho if you're gonna mainly be driving on pavement
