IFS/manual hub ideas

So in less than a month I am going to do 4.88 gears in my rig. I sick of frying my clutch on any hard trail on go on. What I am thinking is while I have have my IFS torn apart to do the ring and pinion, I should probably do a locker or lsd. I know if I were to put a lunchbox locker in there, I would need selectable hubs. Has anyone took the always locked hub, went to a junkyard, and tore off all the necessary parts to off a donor truck to make it selectable hubs? Would I need selectable hubs for a tru-trac lsd? would it suck trying to turn if I didnt? BTW ARB is too expensive, I am a college student doing all the work in my parents garage

OR SHOULD I JUST SAY SCREW IFS AND GO SAS?....................UP FOR SALE--SAW 2.5 COILOVERS AND CAMBURG UPPERS haha

I've always thought the cost far outweigh the benefits of swapping to manual hubs on these rigs.....
Get the ARB, you'll have spent that much on manual hub pieces anyway. :2cents:

You do have a good point about the cost of the hub swab vs just doing a selectable locker. But what about doing a lsd? Would I need manual hubs for it?

Well this is a trail rig right..... If you dont drive it alot on the road it might not be that bad.

If your going to do a manual hub swap, ditch the abs and just get junkyard spindles and cv's
