Lightbulb Identifying 4Runners by their Grille's

Wouldn't it be great to have a pictorial timeline reference of 4Runners by year (and model too)?

Well, I would like to build one that we can post in the 4Runner History forum. What I'm looking for is stock grille forward shots of all years and models. I figure this is prolly the most easy to recognize difference between the model years w/in the various generations. Post pics here or PM me them, please include year and model too (please keep pics < 640x480 if possible). I will include them in the aforementioned reference. I will update this thread to let you know what I'm missing and how it's coming. When I have enough pictures, I'll start compiling it all in Flash. (which is what I do when I'm not working on my rig)

Although the majority of people on this forum's Runners are far from stock, I'm sure we all have pictures of the day our new toys came home with us.

I'll post a pic tonight when I get home... it's kind of from the ground up... but you can see the grill just fine.

For the 2nd gen 4runners you can also tell by the kind of stripe down the sides and whether it has a 3rd brake light.

Bump. Need pictures. If you don't feel like posting them, just pm me a link to them. I could create the whole thing from stock shots included in the afore mentioned history, however wouldn't it be better w/ pictures of our 4runners?

Some noted errors, but it's picking nits. 88 was not the first year for split rear seats. The SR5s came with split rear seats right from 84 onward.

The automatic trans was available from 84 as well, not just the 5sp.

In 87 the headlights did not "become more rounded." They were still the same large rectangular sealed beam, through 1991 in fact...

You can also add the the front valance changed to the spoiler style in 86.

Here is an 1985 SR5 for you. In the upper pic it was brand spankin new.
