This battery WILL NOT fit without modifying your battery cables.
The standard red top has the positive terminal on the opposite side than what Toyotas (at least 3rd gen 4runners) require.
You need the 34R Lee.

Call Optima customer service and tell them that you just ordered a 34R and will need the bottom spacer. They'll send it out no charge.

hey lee!
sorry for the long reply time, i looked at my receipt but it doesnt say what model. im heading out in a bit so ill pop the hood and see if it says anywhere on it what model it is. fwiw, when i installed it, i just clipped the spacer on the bottom, set it on the tray, did up the connections and im off to the races. im not sure if the posts are reversed for the 3rd gen app., my battery is on the pass side.

hey lee!
it just has 35/75 as the part no. but no model # that i can see. mine is intalled with the side terminals facing towards the firewall, neg connection is outboard towards pass fender. i dont know whether or not it makes a difference of what model # you use as mine went in and fits perfectly. there were two sizes when i bought mine, by sizes i mean in cca's. i got the lower cca battery and it works fine, even with the -25-35C temps we had in january and february.

seems ive forgotten how to spell or im inventing new words!! anyway, get the higher rated cca battery from walmart, it was less costly than the same battery at costco. the spacer was clipped over the top covering the terminals, unclip it and reattach it on the bottom and youre good to go for the install.
