2-3 inches should do it just fine. The rear is tricky because of the door. Us 2 door folk don't worry too much about that. Chop it, and be done. If you cut enough, you can get 35s under there. Still might rub the rear by the door though.

A 285 is 1.2" taller than a 265, therefore only .6" taller on the radius, and only 3/4" wider, so if you trim it wont need to be much, and probally only on the pinch weld...

oh definetly. But just to be safe, and to give the truck a rakish, macho look, trim 2-3 inches. It should be good.

uh, no one has mentioned anything about the upper control arm. does no one have a problem with 285's bulging and hitting those? also i have to dissagree with the statement about the spacer lift not allowing for larger tires, i rubbed occationally with 265 75s on stock susp but when i did the spacer lift i never rubbed any where period

hmmm... spacer lift and 285's for me... no problems... though it is street tread.. upper control may rub with off road tires
