i need advice on gears. please help
i have an 88 4runner with a rebuilt 22re. i switched from 31's to 33's a couple of years ago. i noticed right away that 5th gear was a joke, needless to say i dont take it out of town much. i have been slowly working on my truck for a few years now, i have a 3 inch body lift, 2 inch spacers in the back(body sag) and cranked torsion bars. my truck finally sits level again. i am currently interested in swapping gears, but i don't know what brand is the best or what ratio to get. i called randy's last week and the tech told me i needed 4:88s. i told him that i might switch to 35's sometime and he told me 5:29s were the way to go. i dont do any climbing or anything "hardcore" i usually just stick to playing in the mud, so my problem is.......if i get 5:29s and stick with the 33's will it be stupid bad, or if i get 4:88s and get 35's will i be in the same boat i'm in now? if i do the 35's and 5:29s will i be ok on the highway?
please anyone with knowledge or experience help me out.
thanks

if you use the search button and type in gear ratio, you will find more than enough info on this. but.....4.88's and 33's are great together with a manual, automatic you'll want 5.29's. if your gonna switch to 35's, save up for the gears and the tires and go with 35's. i've got 4.10's and 33's right now, and for what i've been doing, i can get away with it. regearing will be a issue at some point.
