I fixed my nonworking hatch dome light switch!
I searched here and found many posts where folks were having problems with the dome light not coming on when the rear hatch is open, which also caused problems for some people with alarm systems as the alarm would not detect the hatch as being open.
From what I had read and discovered, there is no "pin" switch. Its internal to the actual hatch latch.
So what I did was remove the hatch panel, the one that pops out. Then there is a black metal panel with a bunch of wire harnesses connected to it, I removed it and disconnected the wire harnesses. Then I was able to unplug the wire/cable that runs to the latch and a two wire harness and pull the entire latch out of the hatch after removing the three screws on the latch itself.
Next I pulled the rubber cover off the back of the latch and sprayed wd-40 in every crevace I could find and worked the little latch open and close with a screw driver about a million times. I put everything back in and it worked.
Caution, at first I thought I had failed because when I put the latch back in with the cable and two wire harness connected the light still did not come on. The rest of the wire harnesses that attach to the metal panel must be connected also.
Hope that helps since I was unable to find a solution by searching I thought Id share what worked for me. Sorry if its been posted before.
Thanks,
Steve

Been having the problem here myself, but I just took the plate off the dome and just readjust the bulb itself and it fixes it until the next 4 or 5 times I open the hatch. I'll have to give this a shot.

Good luck,
Mine was in the latch itself. It was a little time consuming to get the panels off and disconnect the cables and wires to the latch but it made it much easier to soak it with wd40 and work the latch open and close a million times.
Hope it works for you,
