Hungry Valley SVRA, CA. PICS!!!
First trip to Hungry Valley SVRA, CA in my new (to me) 1996 4X4 4Runner LTD (open diffs). Although I have owned several 4X4 Toyota's, I never did much more than a few dirt roads. My buddy (05 Tacoma Xtra cab 4X4, rear locker) & I decided to see what they could do. Needless to say we were suitably impressed!!!
Can't wait to try San Gabriel SVRA, but we hear it's under 25-75 feet of water!! Maybe we can get a submarine...
My 4Runner
Another shot (These were steeper than they appear in pics)
This was very steep & slippery...
You can see my new IPF Driving lights
Steep & slippery
We did the man made stair steps in the practice area...
Pucker time...
Steep drop off on both sides, slick-rock descent with dirt & gravel. Slippery!!
What's on the other side???
D**n!!! Here we go!!!

Looks like a fun warm up session! Anza Borrego is pretty darn fun, just gotta wait till November when everything opens back up again, and the temp gets out of the 100's.

I've done some dirt roads, but I am pretty conservative when alone & 20-50 miles from help. It was great to see how capable these trucks really are. We went places I never would have tried alone. We figured since we had 2 trucks, and we were at the SVRA we wouldn't be too far if we needed help. Fun stuff!!!!

Hungry Valley is $5.00 for a day pass. They have nice dry (no water) campgrounds.
