The roads can be bone dry and I'll roll through a small puddle of water and BAM! I'm fish tailin out of the parking lot! It's scary driving in the rain because a little too much throttle and my tires are breaking lose. I have Michelin LTX factory spec tires.. tread is still good.
NEVER AGAIN.

Having your tires siped is a waste of money and actually compromises the tire's integrity. Factory siped is the only way to go and my Nittos do quite well in the rain and are far better than the BFGs since BFGs have poor water evacuation channels and their tread design pretty dated now for on-road duty.
Just last night I drove to work in a pretty serious storm of rain and sleet and plenty of standing water I hit at 60mph+ and the Nittos barely flinched.
